Geographic Patterns of the Richness and Density of Wild Orchids in Nature Reserves of Jiangxi, China

Orchids have attracted much attention from researchers, because of their richness species and great ornamental medicinal value. Jiangxi Province, which is located in southeastern China ringed on three sides by mountains, contains many nature reserves harbors large number orchids. Here, we conducted field surveys orchids 35 Jiangxi, using sampling lines plots. We also analyzed the relationship between orchid density with environmental variables studied among these reserves. found that mountainous areas southwestern, southern, northeastern a high orchids, while central northwestern low density. Jiulianshan Jinggangshan are two most rich-species reserves, 58 55 respectively. Eight (22% those surveyed) had fewer than 10 Compared soil, climate, vegetation, topography was more closely related to Topographical explained 19% 20% total variation SR SD, The result hierarchical clustering analysis showed obviously fall into main clusters, separated Ganjiang River–Poyang Lake water system. In conclusion, geographical patterns uneven affected distribution terrain Jiangxi. Our work explains assembly mechanism provides new ideas for protection this region.
